We worked with Mariya on both our U.S. and international trademarks, and the experience has been excellent from start to finish. Everything was clear and well-communicated, and the process felt seamless. We just received our U.S. trademark (took around 9 months), and we’re now waiting on the international ones. Highly recommend Mariya for anyone looking for reliable and professional trademark support.

Why Do You Need a Registered Trademark?

Protect Your Brand

Stop others from using your trademark without your permission.

Enforce Your Rights in Federal Court

Your registration serves as legal presumption of ownership, giving you a strong foundation to act against infringers.

Why Do You Need a Registered Trademark: Protect Your Brand
Why Do You Need a Registered Trademark: Maximize Your Compensation

Maximize Your Compensation

A registered trademark opens the door to triple damages and attorney fee reimbursement in infringement cases in court.

Secure Your Brand Online

Keep your brand secure across digital and e-commerce platforms, such as Amazon Brand Registry.

Trademark Services

Trademark Search

Before filing, a trademark search helps to clarify the risks associated with your application. You'll receive a detailed search report with attorney recommendations on reducing the risk of refusal.

Trademark Registration

Successful registration comes down to the details — the right goods and services, the correct filing basis, and careful deadline management. Every stage of the process is managed for you, building a cost-effective strategy aligned with your business goals.

Responding to Office Actions

An Office Action isn't the end of the road. Both Non-Final and Final Office Actions are analyzed and responded to comprehensively — addressing every USPTO concern while advising on any potential third-party infringement risks along the way.

International Trademark Registration

Trademark protection is territorial — your US registration doesn't protect your brand abroad. Mariya Ortynska files international trademark applications and handles Madrid Protocol filings, helping you secure your brand in every market you operate in or plan to enter.

With an established network of international partners and active membership in ECTA and INTA, Mariya brings both the global reach and local experience needed to build an effective international IP strategy.

Trademark Registration FAQs

Should I register a verbal trademark or a logo?

It is always best to protect a trade name and a logo if you are using both. There are different ways to do so: registering word and visual parts separately, combined or doing both options simultaneously.

These paths provide different types of protection. For example, when filed separately, if someone uses your wordpart with another logo, it may still be considered trademark infringement.

Depending on your situation, a combined trademark application may serve you better. Analysis of trademark search results may help evaluate your position. Trademark attorney Mariya Ortynska will advise on a personalized filing strategy for you.

Can I register a mark similar to an existing mark for the other goods/services?

Not necessarily. Sometimes, the products being in different categories still does not make it safe to file a similar trademark for different goods and/or services.

For example, a clothing brand may not be able to register the same mark as a well-known restaurant, because restaurants commonly extend into merchandise. If consumers are likely to assume a connection between the two, that's enough to create a likelihood of confusion.

This question can be further answered during our consultation after the trademark search results.

Can I add goods or services in other classes after filing the trademark application?

Adding new goods or services is possible by filing a new trademark application. Unfortunately, it is not possible to add subsequent classes to the existing application once filed. During consultation, Mariya Ortynska will help you identify which classes to file now, which ones make sense to file on an intent-to-use basis, and which can be reserved for future expansion.
